Ordering & payment
How do I place an order?
Open a product, set your quantity (m² calculator or unit box), add to basket, then checkout.
Need help with quantities first? Contact us.
What payment methods do you accept?
Whatever is shown at checkout, usually major cards and Shop Pay. Payments run securely through Shopify.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Email info@tridenttiles.co.uk with your order number as soon as you can. We can usually help if it has not been dispatched yet.
Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?
Yes. Send your project details, quantities and timeline and we will come back with pricing.
Is there a minimum order value?
No minimum for tiles. Free UK delivery on tile orders over £400. Sample-only orders pay sample price plus delivery at checkout.
Samples
How do I order a tile sample?
Use the Order Sample button on the product page. Price is shown on the button. Samples can go in the same basket as full tiles.
Guide: How to order tile samples.
How much do samples cost?
Shown on each product’s Order Sample button. That price is for one sample piece.
How many samples can I order?
One sample per click. You can add samples from different products in one basket. For large commercial sets, contact us.
Are sample tiles the same as the full product?
Yes: same range, finish and material, just one piece. Screens can mislead on colour, so check a sample in your space before a full order.
Why can't I order a sample on some products?
The button only shows when a sample is set up and in stock. If the tile is out of stock, use the back-in-stock alert or contact us.
Pricing & per m²
What does the price per m² mean?
For box-sold tiles it is a guide based on box price and m² per box. You always buy whole boxes.
More detail: How Trident tile prices work.
Why doesn't my total equal m² multiplied by the price per m²?
Per m² is rounded for display, you buy whole boxes (so coverage rounds up), and a 10% wastage tick adds area before boxes are worked out. Checkout is always boxes × box price.
Why do some products show a price per unit instead of per m²?
Items like Kit Kat strips sell per piece, not by the box. Specs show size and sell unit. See Kit Kat tiles explained.
Does the product page calculator include VAT?
Yes. Site prices and the calculator total include VAT for UK customers where it applies.
How are sale prices shown?
Was/now prices show on cards and product pages. For area-sold tiles, sale prices also show per m² with the same rounding as standard pricing.
Coverage & quantity
How do I measure how many square metres I need?
Length × width in metres for each area. Split awkward shapes into rectangles and add them up.
Guides: How to measure a room for tiling and How much tile do I need?
What does m² per box mean?
How much area one full box covers. It is in the specs and drives the calculator. Not the size of a single tile.
What is the 10% wastage option on the calculator?
It adds 10% extra area before boxes are calculated, for cuts, breakages and spares. Complex layouts may need more. Ask your tiler if unsure.
Why do I receive slightly more square metres than I entered?
Tiles sell in whole boxes only. The calculator rounds up, so you often get a bit more coverage than typed. Better than running short.
Is there a maximum number of boxes I can order online?
Yes: 500 boxes per product per order. For more, contact us.
Delivery
How much is delivery?
Free UK delivery on tile orders over £400. Below that, and for sample-only orders, delivery is calculated at checkout. See the delivery page.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Most in-stock orders dispatch in 1–2 working days. After 6pm or at weekends, we start the next working day. Product pages show estimates; special orders can take longer.
Do you deliver everywhere in the UK?
Yes across the UK. Cost and options show at checkout. For Highlands, islands or awkward access, contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
How do I track my delivery?
We email on dispatch with a tracking link when the carrier provides one. No email yet? Check spam or contact us with your order number.
What happens if I am not home for delivery?
Someone should be in to take the delivery, or arrange a safe signed-for drop with the carrier. Failed access can mean a redelivery charge. Message us before dispatch if you need a note on the order.
Do samples qualify for free delivery?
The £400 free UK delivery offer is for tile orders. Sample-only baskets pay delivery at checkout. Mixed baskets follow the tile value shown at checkout.
Returns & issues
Can I return tiles if I change my mind?
Returns are limited. Unopened, resaleable full boxes may be accepted within 14 days; return shipping is usually yours. Cut, opened, installed or special-order tiles are generally non-returnable. See returns.
What if my tiles arrive damaged?
Check on arrival, note damage on the carrier paperwork if you can, take photos, then contact us within 48 hours with your order number. We will replace or sort a remedy.
What if I receive the wrong tiles?
Contact us straight away with your order number and photos. If we sent the wrong product, we will collect and replace or refund.
How do I start a return?
Email info@tridenttiles.co.uk with order number, product and reason. Wait for confirmation before sending anything back. Steps: returns page.
Choosing the right tile
Can I use wall tiles on the floor?
Only if the product is rated for floors. Check Suitable For and the specs. For wet floors, check slip rating too.
What does the slip rating mean?
Ratings like R9–R13 show grip underfoot when wet. Higher usually means more grip. Pick what suits bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoors. Listed in the specs where it applies.
What is the difference between porcelain and ceramic?
Porcelain is denser and tougher, good for floors and busy spaces. Ceramic is often lighter, suited to walls and lighter traffic. Material is on every product page.
What do matte and polished finishes mean?
Matte is low shine and hides marks well. Polished is glossier and can brighten a room, but shows marks more. Finish is in the specs.
What does the Suitable For section on a product page mean?
A quick guide to intended use (e.g. bathroom walls, kitchen floors, outdoors), based on the tile’s specs. Confirm with your tiler for your install.
Products & stock
What if a tile is out of stock?
It shows as out of stock and cannot go in the basket. Use the back-in-stock alert on the page to get an email when it returns.
How do back-in-stock alerts work?
Enter your email and hit Notify me. We email you once when it is back. That is not a marketing signup.
Will the colour match exactly between batches?
Batches can vary slightly. Order enough in one go and keep a spare box. Matching existing tiles? Sample first or contact us with batch details.
